Cheyenne Papania
Program Director: Digital Engagement & Forest Play Lead Teacher
Cheyenne grew up on over 100 acres of forested land in the Madawaska Valley, just east of Algonquin Park. Her route to the school bus began with a hop over a boulder and a leap onto a low-hanging branch that gently lowered her onto the trail she traveled each day—imprinting the path with wide-eyed wonder.
From a young age, Cheyenne saw the world through a lens of magic and connection. One of her most vivid childhood memories is lying beneath a sky full of stars, wishing for a baby of her own. She’s always known her greatest purpose was to be a mother—and as a little girl, she dreamed of becoming a teacher. Today, she lives both dreams fully.
As a mother to two fast-growing girls, Cheyenne clings lovingly to her passion for photography, capturing the fleeting moments of childhood before they pass. She brings this same reverence for wonder, stillness, and storytelling into the forest each day.
At Hudson Forest Play, Cheyenne is honoured to guide children in an environment where curiosity leads the way and learning unfolds naturally. With knowledge in child psychology, kids yoga, sound therapy, and forest bathing, she supports children’s growth with intention, empathy, and joy—always alongside them, learning too.
Cheyenne also delights in sharing her love of music, singing, and creating, and she brings these passions into each day with joy and spontaneity. She’s most at home when diving into imaginative play with the children—following their lead, co-creating stories, and bringing magic to life in the forest.
In her role as Program Director of Digital Engagement, Cheyenne thoughtfully shares the beauty and richness of forest play with the wider community. Through her lens and her words, she captures the spirit of each day—bridging families and forest, one story at a time.
